The original features of the apartments remain unaltered so that inside the building the arches and ceilings of ancient brick vaults can be admired in their original splendour.
The furnishings, in keeping with the unusual architectural features of the apartments, are traditional and antique and very comfortable.

The apartments sit within a large, beautifully planted garden that is arranged over various levels, shaded by tall trees and offering panoramic views across the Chiana Valley. Each apartment has a private terrace area where garden furniture and a barbeque are available for use by guests.
A swimming pool is also available for guests to use with poolside showers, deck chairs, sun- loungers and umbrellas. Within the gardens of Fonte del Castagno stands a hall, another beautifully restored building, wich is available to hire and perfect for hosting ceremonies and events. The hall can seat up to 80 people.
The famouse wine producing hilltop towns of Montepulciano and Montalcino are within a few kilometres, famed for their production of wines such a Nobile and Brunello. It is also just a short drive to the historic towns of Siena, Cortona, Arezzo, Perugia and Florence. Also within the local vicinity you will find the rolling hills of the Chianti Classico region, The Orcia Valley with Pienza and the ancient thermal spa of Bagni Vignoni, and the Sienese Cretes where you will find the white truffles of San Giovanni d'Asso.
Fonte del Castagno is very close to the famous thermal baths of Tuscany: Rapolano Terme, Montepulciano, Chianciano Terme, Bagno Vignoni, Bagni di San Filippo and San Casciano dei Bagni.

This location is also within an hour drive of Mount Amiata for walking in summer months and skiing during the winter.
